Competition overview
How to Play
These are the same detailed rules shown on the National Championship rules page. The official competition rules govern.
1.Three picks a week
Each week you make three NFL picks across three categories:
- Straight-Up Winner (SU) — a team to win its game outright. Worth 2 pts (1 pt if the game ties).
- Against the Spread (ATS) — a team to cover. Worth 3 pts (1.5 pts on a push). Pick-em games show +0/-0.
- Dog to Win Outright (DOG) — an underdog to win outright. Worth spread + 2, capped at 12 pts. A 1-pt dog winning = 3 pts; a 5-pt dog = 7 pts; a 17-pt dog = 12 pts. Half points on a tie. Pick-em teams are not eligible.
You CAN use the same team across multiple categories (i.e. the same team in SU / ATS or in ATS / DOG).
2.Each team, once per category
Once you’ve picked a team in a category, you can’t pick that team in that category again all season (other categories are fine). The app blocks reused teams automatically — check the Team Sheet anytime.
DOTY exception: your one Dawg of the Year pick may use a team you’ve already selected in the DOG category.
3.Deadlines
- Kickoff of the first game of the week — all games scheduled before Sunday 1:00p ET lock together when the week’s first game kicks off. That covers Wednesday openers, Thursday, Friday/Saturday games, and Sunday morning international games that kickoff prior to 1:00p ET.
- Sun 1:00p ET sharp — Sunday/Monday games from 1:00p ET on. NOT the start of the 4pm/SNF/MNF games!
You can edit unlocked picks as often as you like — your last saved pick counts. All submissions are timestamped.
4.Spreads
Spreads are posted Tuesdays, typically midday to early afternoon, but may be delayed if lines are not published yet, using Circa Sportsbook odds. Once posted, they do NOT change.
5.Visibility
Everyone’s picks become visible once their game group locks. Until then only you can see yours.
6.DAWG of the YEAR
Once a season you can declare your DOG pick your DOTY. You CAN pick a team you’ve already used in the DOG category. If your DOTY wins, you get double points (a 7-pt dawg = 18 pts). Check the DOTY box when submitting.
7.Free entry & prizes
Entry is free; no purchase is necessary. The total prize pool is $2,000: $1,000 for first, $500 for second, $250 for third, $150 for fourth, and $100 for fifth.
Season-end tiebreakers: (1) largest single DOG win by spread; (2) total category 1+2+3 wins. If a tie remains after both tiebreakers, the tied entrants split the combined prizes for the tied places equally.
8.Eligibility & one entry per person
The competition is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 or older, and legal residents of Canada who are 19 or older. Entry requires a verified email sign-in or Google account, verified U.S. or Canadianmobile number, legal name, country, and state, province, or territory of residence. Each person may submit only one entry; entries cannot be transferred or shared. Multiple adults may enter from the same household, but each must use their own identity, email, and mobile number.
9.Integrity review & administration
The administrator may review account, phone, device, and network signals; request additional documentation; suspend suspicious entries; and disqualify duplicate, automated, shared, transferred, or fraudulent entries. Shared network or household information is a review signal and is not by itself grounds for disqualification. Potential winners must complete identity, age, residency, duplicate-entry, and required tax verification before a prize is awarded. False registration information or failure to complete winner verification may result in prize forfeiture. Sponsor may correct a documented administrative or scoring error, or postpone or cancel an affected game or week when needed to preserve fair competition. Any decision will be recorded and applied consistently to affected entrants.
